Essential Oils for Warts

for Warts
Many of the essential oils have antiviral
properties, however, it is necessary to find the essential oil
which is most appropriate for a particular virus.

Lavender or Lavendula angustifolia is the
essential, essential oil that every home should have
in their medicine cabinet.
Lavender, because of its anti-viral properties
may be used to treat warts, even though it is not considered to
be a specific for warts.
It has a multitude of uses for pain, burns,
nervous tension, cramps, asthma, to mention ony a few. Its
anti-inflammatory properties cover a broad range of
dermatological problems such as, psorasis, dermatatis, eczema,
boils, and acne.

Melissa or mellisa officinalis has had its
anti-viral properties confirmed by studies done in Germany, it
has sucessfully treated influenza, herpes, smallpox, and
mumps. Since warts are caused by the human
papilloma virus, melissa may be found to be a very effective
remedy in treating certain cases of warts, but not all, it
depends on the type of wart, and appears to depend on who
has the wart. When applying this to the wart, keep it away from
healthy skin, I have found it to be very drying.

Tea Tree or Melaleuca alternifolia is
another oil with very extensive uses and can be used to treat
warts. I treated a wart on a child with tea tree oil and it was
gone in a couple of weeks. I treated his sister with the same
oil, and her wart continued unchanged. So once again it appears
to depend on the type of wart and who has it.

Thuja or thuja occidentalis essential oil,
although considered to be a hazardous oil, can be a specific
for warts of all kinds. If pregnant it is not recommended that
you use this oil at all, for any purpose. Far better to use tea
tree oil. Again with this oil, if using it for a wart, apply to
the wart, not to the rest of your skin.

Eucalyptus oil is great to use for warts, and
any number of other health problems. It stimulates the
immune system, treats respiratory problems, wounds, and
ulcers.
Oregano or origanum vulgare's anti-viral
properties can be used to treat warts, it needs to be kept
away from healthy skin, because it may irritate.

Lime fruit has anti-viral properties, so may be
worthwhile squeezing some lime juice on to the wart.
From all of the above essential oils, I
would choose thuja oil as having the most impact on
the wart virus. Again it must be stressed , apply
the oil only to the wart. In order to prevent
spilling it on to the skin, surround the area around the wart
with some vaseline , or glycerine.
